Hello 2016

As we embark on a new year, we tend to take a little inward look at ourselves and decide to make some New Yearโ€™s Resolution or other. Iโ€™m not a big fan of resolutions but it does occur to me that I use one phrase far too often during client meetings. The cobblerโ€™s children haveโ€ฆ

As we embark on a new year, we tend to take a little inward look at ourselves and decide to make some New Yearโ€™s Resolution or other. Iโ€™m not a big fan of resolutions but it does occur to me that I use one phrase far too often during client meetings.

The cobblerโ€™s children have no shoes.

But who is wurs shod, than the shoemakers wyfe, With shops full of newe shapen shoes all hir lyfe?
But who is wurs shod, than the shoemakers wyfe,

Do as I say, not as I do.

Another phrase I tend to use, when explaining the benefits of blogging and social media. As a web designer, I should have a damn good website, a great blog and a fantastic portfolio.

Well, this website gets lots of compliments but I guess it could do with a spring clean. The blog posts get great results โ€“ when I write them โ€“ so a little tweak in frequency required there.

But our portfolio hasnโ€™t been updated in months! Itโ€™s easy to fall behind, itโ€™s the last step of any project and when youโ€™re busy itโ€™s a step thatโ€™s easy to postpone. So a change of tack โ€“ rather than wait until itโ€™s up-to-date, Iโ€™m going to try and add new launches when they happen and go back and fill the gaps gradually.

So, keep an eye out for tweaks and gap-filling in January but in the meantime, hereโ€™s our first launch of 2016โ€ฆ

Canterbury Locks

In theory, this is the kind of site that shouldnโ€™t work any more. But we like to experiment. A one page site for this Canterbury Locksmith with the aim of improving their visibility. Interestingly, we hadnโ€™t even finished building this one before the client commissioned us to replace their pricey Yell-built main website, so watch this space!

When recommending products or services, we will frequently use affiliate links. If you make a purchase after clicking on them then we may well receive a small payment.

However, we only recommend products that we use ourselves โ€“ the referral fee is just a little bonus. Even without that bonus, we would still recommend the product and posts are not written with the sole intention of receiving that bonus.

Any bonus we do receive helps us fund our community projects.
